Yoga District: U Street has a wonderful yoga community with studios as unique as their followers and teachers. Yoga District caught our attention with its echo-friendlly practices and the most affordable prices in town. From hot to restorative, to a refreshing hybrid (Yogalates), U&Me sought out some of the best reasons to throw down your mat and find your inner zen at this warm and welcoming yoga house.

Candlelight Flow:  As the weekend winds down and the anticipation of a new week creeps to the forefront of your mind, pause and take a few deep breaths. Then head to a candle lit yoga class at Yoga District. Candlelight Flow, lead by Michelle B., focusses on slow movements and longer poses that leave you feeling centered. The candles set a peaceful atmosphere, allowing for a greater focus and calm being. Find your zen at Candlelight Flow: Sundays at 5PM, $10/class.

Yogalates:  This fun and innovative fusion of yoga and Pilates offers a mix of core strengthening Pilates moves and controlled poses of yoga. It’s the perfect combination for developing strength and tone as well as working on alignment and flexibility. If you’re looking to spice up your practice, try Yogalates.
