About Me

The “Me” in U&Me: I’m a U Street resident and young professional who moved to DC and fell in love with the neighborhood three and a half years ago. U Street holds a unique history from a thriving music and jazz scene in the ’20′s to riots and destruction in the late ’60′s. Through it all the Corridor has remained a hub for culture, arts and politics. Those that have witnessed the unbelievable transformation of U Street over the last decade can attest to the exciting evolution. Yet with new developments comes an influx of people frequenting the area and in need of a resource or guide. The U&Me blog brings current and incoming residents and visitors the best of the ‘hood from brunch and beers to boxing and bootcamps. With insights straight from a foodie, fitness nut and fashionista, U&Me covers all the bases. By highlighting a mix of both emerging and established places and uncovering off the beaten path gems, U&Me is your source for the best sights, sounds and flavors of the buzzing U Street neighborhood.
